Vaultory LLC ("Vaultory," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Vaultory mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account
• Inventory Data: Information about items you catalog, including descriptions, serial numbers, photographs, purchase dates, purchase prices, and estimated values
• Documents: Photos, receipts, warranties, appraisals, and other documents you upload
• Estate Planning Information: Beneficiary names and contact information (Elite subscribers)
• Payment Information: Subscription payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play; we do not store your payment card details

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
• Usage Data: Features used, time spent in app, crash reports
• Camera Data: When you use AI Scanner, images are processed to identify items; images are not stored on our servers after processing unless you save them to your inventory

1.3 Information from Third Parties

• Authentication Providers: If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from those services
• Value Lookup Services: We query GunBroker and eBay APIs to retrieve market values; these services may log queries

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the App's functionality
• To process your inventory and provide value estimates
• To enable AI-powered item identification and scanning
• To generate reports and documentation for your records
• To process subscription payments through app stores
• To send service-related communications
• To improve our App and develop new features
• To respond to your inquiries and support requests
• To detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized access

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: Third-party services that help us operate the App (cloud hosting, AI processing, analytics)
• AI Processing: Images sent to AI Scanner are processed by OpenAI or Google Cloud Vision; these providers have their own privacy policies
• Value Lookup: Item queries are sent to GunBroker and eBay to retrieve market data
• Insurance Partners: If you click "Get Quote," you will be directed to third-party insurance providers; we do not share your data until you choose to interact with them
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
• With Your Consent: For any other purpose with your explicit consent

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL)
• Encryption of sensitive data at rest
• Secure authentication practices
• Regular security assessments

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us.

Upon account deletion:

• Your inventory data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
• Uploaded documents and photos will be permanently deleted
• Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics

6. Your Rights and Choices

• Access: You can access your data through the App at any time
• Export: You can export your inventory as PDF reports
• Correction: You can update your information in the App
• Deletion: You can delete individual items or your entire account
• Opt-Out: You can opt out of promotional communications

7. Vaultory Drive (Local Storage Option)

If you use Vaultory Drive (our optional hardware accessory), your data can be backed up locally to a device you own. Data stored on Vaultory Drive:

• Remains entirely in your possession
• Is not transmitted to our servers
• Is your responsibility to secure and protect

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Effective Date." Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. California Privacy Rights

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
